Slide show Marine Layer Day  /  Slide Show a Sunny Day

Shell Beach California is home to seals, gulls, cormorants, and Pelicans. Several thousand hang out on the cliffs and rocks along it's coast. There's ample vantage places available to shoot from and my 18-200mm is all the lens needed. I did use the 80-400mm for some shots, but it was really too much lens.

 

Below is a 4 shot photomerged  panorama shot at 18mm. Naturally it looks farther away than it really is, approximately 70-80 feet between the cliff and rock.

 

Opportunities do not end for shot of birds cursing between the rock and cliff. The rock makes an interesting

background as you will see in the slide show.

 

From the point below, 27mm 5 shot photomerge, the birds continually fly by presenting head on to over the shoulder

poses.
